On August 16th, the Lanzhou Pavilion located at the main venue of the Chengdu World Horticultural Exposition officially commenced its construction. Guided by the theme “Beauty Along the Yellow River's Edge”, the Lanzhou Pavilion is set to weave together the realms of reality and imagination, bringing to life the grandeur of the Yellow River flowing through the city.
Elegantly showcasing the city's identity, the Lanzhou Pavilion will feature a landscape artistry that encompasses the municipal flower, the rose, the emblematic city tree, the locust, and an array of distinctive floral treasures like the enchanting spotted peony and vibrant dahlias. Further enhancing the visual feast, edible cultivars such as roses and lilies, alongside valuable medicinal plants like Chinese angelica and astragalus, will also grace the garden, painting a comprehensive portrait of Lanzhou as the capital city along the Yellow River.
Central to the essence of the Lanzhou Pavilion is the celebration of Yellow River culture, Lanzhou's unique heritage, and the city's strides in economic and social progress. This dynamic blend will serve as an eloquent window, offering a panoramic view of Lanzhou's urban ethos to the global stage.
Presently, the Lanzhou Pavilion's construction is making significant strides, having entered the preparatory phase of site development, meticulous measurements, and precise alignment. Forecasts indicate that by mid-October, the principal elements including picturesque pavilions and resplendent walls will grace the landscape. Following this, the garden's intricate paving is scheduled for completion by mid-November, while the final flourish of greenery is expected to be tenderly planted by the close of the same month. By mid-December, the meticulous assembly of refined landscape components will culminate, adding the finishing strokes to this captivating masterpiece.
