In the passionate summer of July, the construction fervor of the Horticultural Expo project is in full swing. Following the successful completion of the main venue's core structure at the 2024 Chengdu Horticultural Expo, another milestone has been achieved in the progress of the main venue construction. Bridge No. 1, known as the Moon Bridge, has been meticulously installed, becoming the second bridge to be completed within the main venue, elegantly spanning the Jiangxi River.

    The Moon Bridge stretches an impressive 116 meters in length and 16.7 meters in width. As a prominent landmark of the 2024 Chengdu Horticultural Expo, the Moon Bridge is strategically situated in the central part of the main venue, surrounded by key architectural marvels and scenic landscapes such as the Scattered Flower Towers, Tianfu Eye, and Bamboo Rhythm Garden.

    Functioning as a crucial link between various significant exhibition areas, the Moon Bridge serves as an integral component of the park's pedestrian-friendly system, while also serving as a captivating sightline that gracefully spans the mesmerizing Jiangxi River. According to the project's responsible personnel, the installation of the steel box beams for the Moon Bridge has been completed, marking the fulfillment of the main structural construction. The next phase, scheduled for November, entails the addition of decorative elements and the final pavement of the bridge deck, bringing the ethereal essence of the "Moon" to life on the waters of the Jiangxi River.

    As its name suggests, the Moon Bridge embraces a design concept inspired by the enchanting spectacle of the "moon rising from the water," with its structure evoking the graceful shape of a crescent. By capturing the captivating moment of a rising moon, the bridge's sleek lines masterfully outline a captivating and mystical portrayal of the "Emei Mountain Moon" across the surface of the Jiangxi River.

    Imbued with a serene ambiance, reminiscent of the verse "the cool moon hanging like an eyebrow over the willow’s bay, the mountains of Sichuan mirrored in the eyes"， the Moon Bridge harmoniously complements the nearby Scattered Flower Towers, creating an enchanting ambiance that showcases the unique essence of Sichuan's cultural heritage.

    Furthermore, the crescent moon pattern, abstracted from the symbol of Chengdu's ancient Shu culture—the sunbird motif found at the Jinsha Site—has been artfully combined with traditional auspicious cloud patterns. This artistic fusion depicts a splendid tapestry where the auspicious bird offers its benevolent protection, embraced by swirling auspicious clouds.

    In its endeavor to celebrate regional culture through the integration of traditional elements, the Moon Bridge seamlessly incorporates modern techniques to ensure structural stability and functional integrity, harmoniously intertwining aesthetics and practicality.
