As the construction of the main venue in the eastern new area continues at full speed, the development of the International Horticultural Expo sub-venues is also making great progress. On July 21st, the construction site of Pidu Sub-Venue saw the arrival of steel reinforcements, marking the official start of the floor laying for the Butterfly Village Exhibition Center. The steel structure for the boutique hotels has also been brought in, and construction is now underway.
According to the latest information, the central area of the Pidu Sub-Venue for the 2024 Chengdu International Horticultural Expo has been designated as "Butterfly Village", covering an area of 1.8 square kilometers. It will feature various projects, including the Exhibition Center, Boutique Hotels, Spring Market for Flower Trading, and a Plant Factory. Butterfly Village has been thoughtfully divided into five main thematic spaces, creating a layout that combines a circular area, two core areas, and four groupings.
The F zone is the Exhibition Center, known as the "Butterfly Pavilion". Embracing the significance of butterflies in the village, the architectural design gracefully incorporates smooth curves reminiscent of butterfly shapes. Butterflies and flowers share an inseparable bond with the natural ecological environment. This harmony intertwines greenery with architectural design, while the green-sloped rooftops enhance the scenic views, offering a dynamic and multi-dimensional space for various activities.
The Exhibition Center is thoughtfully designed to accommodate reception centers, Western and Chinese restaurants, exhibition spaces, and sales areas, which will be shared with the hotel zone. Its open and spacious layout allows for versatile usage. Leveraging its exhibition functionality, the space will also host art exhibitions, cultural shops, and upscale Western and Chinese restaurants, delivering an unforgettable and refined entertainment experience for guests.
Simultaneously with the Exhibition Center, the construction of the Boutique Hotels is well underway. The project manager of Butterfly Village reveals, "By September, the exterior and interior walls, as well as the electrical and plumbing installations of the Boutique Hotels, will be completed. The main construction of the Exhibition Center will also be finished. By October, the Boutique Hotels will undergo final acceptance, and the Exhibition Center will be substantially completed."
