Recently, the 8th China Chengdu International Intangible Cultural Heritage Festival and the Wenjiang Shou'an Flower and Wood Weaving Cultural Tourism Festival officially kicked off at the Shou'an Botanical Weaving Park in Wenjiang District, Chengdu.
This event revolves around the theme of "Sharing Commitment Practices and Deepening Cultural Exchange" with a primary focus on "Promoting Flower and Wood Weaving to Support Rural Revitalization." It encompasses seven distinct categories of activities, including the Flower and Wood Weaving Landscape Art Exhibition, the inaugural Primary and Secondary School Student Weaving Competition, and a symposium on the innovative development of flower and wood weaving. All these efforts are aimed at creating a fresh cultural and tourism experience in rural areas.
The opening ceremony began amidst the lively and exuberant "Lion Dance" performance, followed by a succession of remarkable intangible heritage programs, such as Ee Ee lanterns, Guqin music, martial arts, and more. A noteworthy highlight was the exquisite dance performance titled "Weaving Happiness," a fusion of Shou'an flower and wood weaving, Sichuan car lanterns, Lianxiao, and other intangible heritage elements. This performance beautifully portrayed the elegance and fluidity of flower and wood weaving for the live audience.
