Agriculture Counsellor of the Kingdom of the Netherlands Embassy visits tulip garden at International Horticultural Exhibition 2024 Chengdu

Mr. Erik Smidt, Agriculture Counsellor of the Kingdom of the Netherlands Embassy in Beijing, visited the International Horticultural Exhibition 2024 Chengdu on April 28th. He visited several theme gardens and paid a special visit to the tulip garden, a flower experience presented by the World Tulip Society. With this classic Dutch landscape and flower garden, it portrays the story of the tulip through Dutch children’s brand "FIEN & TEUN". As part of this visit, Mr. Erik Smidt and Ms. Xue Yan, Vice chief of Shuangliu District, jointly witnessed the signing of documents between the "FIEN & TEUN" brand and the Airport Flower Field in Shuangliu District, Chengdu, which are about to launch multiple cooperation on Dutch gardening and cultural brands development.

Mr. Erik Smidt said that tulips are world-famous and have served as a bridge for exchange between different countries and cultures for centuries, and "FIEN & TEUN" also has played an important role in cultural exchange between China and the Netherlands. He congratulated the successful launch of the tulip garden and praised International Horticultural Exhibition 2024 Chengdu as an international exchange platform that provides exhibition and exchange opportunities for horticultural industries and enthusiasts from across the world.

The parks of FIEN & TEUN showcases the development of the flower and gardening industry in the Netherlands and provides a real-life scene to visitors for family travel and science travel. Involved parties will collaborate to develop the park and create a project in accordance to the concept of the "Park City, Beautiful Habitat", adding a new signature project to cultural tourism in Chengdu.
