The main venue of the International Horticultural Exhibition 2024 Chengdu (the Expo) met its first peak period of visitor flow after the opening of the event during the May Day holiday, while the staff of the venue made all-out efforts to keep the operation of the venue and improve the service standard.

More than 100 business operations have been introduced to a number of spots at the main venue, such as the exhibition halls, Chengdu Times Street and Global Fair, to provide catering services to visitors to the event, who can enjoy the grand display of the global horticultural culture while enjoying flavorful foods. Officials from the management department of the main venue said they have begun to take measures to deal with the problems in operations and to improve the conditions for business operations, based on the collected suggestions from visitors to the venue. A number of brand new dining cars, as well as vending machines selling beverage and boxed meals, have been put into service.

Following the suggestions by visitors, the administration of Chengdu Eastern New Area has had the guidance signals replaced at Chengdudong Railway Station and the station for direct bus service to Tianfu International Airport and put up more guidance directions at the temporary parking lots around the main venue of the Expo. More bus stops along the sightseeing route have been added to original six stops, and more charging piles have been added along the way.

The night shows at the main venue were launched during the May Day holiday, with the water screen lighting show by the Jiangxia Lake as the most attractive spot. More careful security measures were introduced after the first show, including the rail-off of the water areas and the control of visitor flows according to time intervals of the performances.
