The 76th AIPH Annual Congress opened in Warsaw, Poland on September 4, local time. More than 20 AIPH membership institutions attended the meeting, and a delegation from China, headed by Peng Hongming, deputy general secretary of China Flower Association and deputy director of the office of the Organizing Committee of the International Horticultural Exhibition 2024 Chengdu (the Expo), and Zhou Jun, deputy director of Chengdu Park City Construction and Management Bureau, gave reports at the meeting on the review of the Expo since its launch in April.

In his speech, Zhou Jun said the Expo had, as far as the end of August, received over 5 million visits since its opening on April 26. He invited people from all over the world to come to Chengdu

Peng expressed his appreciation of the achievements of the Expo in landscape designs, program arrangement, traffic, service and security. “The Expo serves as a showcase of horticultural cultures, a platform for cultural exchange and promoting scientific innovations and the concept of sustainable development,” he noted.

General Secretary of AIPH Tim Briercliffe said that he had paid several visits to Chengdu since the preparation of the Expo, and wished more people come to Chengdu to have a look of the event.
