The main venue of the International Horticultural Exhibition 2024 Chengdu (the Expo) on October 5 welcomed a large number of visitors from across the country that had an impressive night watching a breathtaking visual feast. Apart from the light and shadow show, the iron striking, a traditional intangible cultural heritage item, caught sight of the visitors.
The light and shadow show on the water curtain waterfall started just after 8 pm, with stunning images projected onto the water curtain using holographic projection and light imaging technology, creating vivid landscapes alongside the rising waterfall, rocks, trees and flowers.At 8:50 pm, the iron striking performance began. The molten iron flew into the air at the strikes of skilled craftsmen."Here we watched the high-tech water curtain light show and a musical drama. What impressed us the most is the iron striking performance, which is a successful example to combine the intangible cultural heritage with the tourism market," said Qian, a tourist from Guiyang City in Guizou Province.
