Having presented colorful rapeseed flowers in spring and rice field landscapes in summer, the Tianfu Agricultural Expo Park, a sub-venue of the International Horticultural Exhibition 2024 Chengdu (the EXPO), has already entered its autumn season with blooming chrysanthemums. The “Earth Symphony” landscape, covering 10 hectares and with 18 varieties of chrysanthemums, is now open to the public.

Today, stepping into the Tianfu Agricultural Expo Island (the core area of Tianfu Agricultural Expo Park) feels like being immersed in a colorful dreamland. Thousands of chrysanthemums, buds and blooming flowers, are adorning the whole area. In shades of yellow, white, purple, and red, they look like vivid musical notes. Each flower is a beautiful artwork elaborately crafted by nature.

The colorful landscape of chrysanthemums is mainly located on the south side of the main pavilion of the Tianfu Agricultural Expo Park and Ruixue. Planted along the Chengxinpu Expressway, the flowers with 18 varieties and in six different colors were introduced from the chrysanthemum research team of Nanjing Agricultural University.

This landscape, known as the “Earth Symphony,” is designed and shaped as piano keys, staff lines and musical notes. The roads serving as the framework, and the chrysanthemums as the artistic strokes, present a vibrant painting for the EXPO. It is the centerpiece of the chrysanthemum display.

Strolling in the Tianfu Agricultural Expo Island, the unique fragrance of chrysanthemums fills the air. Looking around, a vast sea of colorful chrysanthemums unfolds. The most attractive varieties are fiery red Jinling Red Grapefruit and pinkish-yellow Jinling Rose Gold, which looks like fairies in bloom. According to an insider, these flowers started blooming in early October, with their peak season expected in late October, and the blooming period will last until early November.

Here, you can walk along winding paths, having a close look at the delicate textures  and feeling the strong vitality of each flower, go up to the observation platform to overlook the vast fields filled with colorful chrysanthemums, enjoy the musical notes formed by the flowers, or just relax in the camping area, enjoying the pleasantly cool autumn breezes.
