On the morning of October 26, four football players from the Chengdu Rongcheng Football Club, Liu Tao, Ran Weifeng, Liao Rongxiang and Luo Yuxi, showed up at the main venue of the International Horticultural Exhibition 2024 Chengdu (the EXPO). Wearing the team uniforms of the Chengdu Rongcheng FC, the players, together with over 20 fans, embarked on an amazing tour of the EXPO Park.
The first stop of them was the Chengdu Garden, which is imbued with the unique charm of Bashu culture. They were amazed by the perfect blend of classical architecture and modern garden design. They kept interacting with visitors and taking photos during the tour. Afterwards, the group came to the majestic Jinyun Tower, where they can overlook the entire EXPO Park. Luo Yuxi told reporters in an interview, “Today is my first visit to the EXPO, and I’m truly stunned by the beautiful view here. The ecological environment is great, and the architectures and buildings are grand and magnificent. It’s especially meaningful to visit the EXPO with the fans today.”
Next, the players visited the Botanical Pavilion, where they had a close look at various rare plants and learned about the importance of ecological diversity. Liao Rongxiang remarked, “Visiting the EXPO not only allows us to appreciate the local horticultural culture of Chengdu and other parts of Sichuan, but also gives us a chance to know more about the characteristics of different cities and their horticultural traditions, while enjoying diverse landscapes.”
At noon, a special celebration was held at the main venue of the EXPO, where the players hosted a sweet birthday party for the over 20 fans. They presented gifts they had carefully prepared to the fans. The atmosphere was filled with joy and emotion. Veteran fan Zhang Lin excitedly said, “I’ve loved football for many years and I have been following Chengdu Rongcheng Football Club. This is a really happy moment to tour the EXPO with the players I love today!”
The players expressed that spending the impressive time with the fans at the EXPO enabled them to feel the harmonious integration of sports and nature. It also reflects the strong emotional bond between their club and its supporters. "We usually focus on training, so it’s rare to have the chance to get outside. Visiting the EXPO today really opened our eyes. This unique park tour and birthday celebration have brought us closer to our fans and provided an unforgettable memory together."
