Though small, the space showcases the well-being of local citizens. Visiting the "park at your doorstep" has become a part of daily life for the local residents. Recently, the newly built Hongguangli Park, located at No. 200 Ganghua Road, Hongguang Street, Pidu District, was open to the public.
According to a relevant government department, so far this year, the Pidu District has been continuing to promote its ecological construction and green initiative, which are part of Chengdu’s Park City construction efforts. By now, a total of 25 parks, small gardens, and micro green spaces have been planned to build, to add 13,400 square meters of green space to the district.
The Hongguangli Park covers an area of 8.67 hectares and stretches nearly 1 kilometer from Ganghua Road to Gangtong North Third Road. With abundant natural landscapes and recreational facilities, it has become a new green space for nearby dwellers.
Entering the park, under the lush, towering trees, you can see sports fields, featured landscapes and other facilities. Residents can come here to do exercises and take leisurely walks.
Walking along the green paths, sage and other green bushes sway gracefully in the breeze. Several maple trees near Gangtong North Third Road have already turned a stunning shade of red, adding a touch of romance to the park.
Project manager Xiao Yao introduced that the design of the park fully considers the needs of local residents. It is divided into four functional areas: a sports zone, a children’s park, a community service area, and an educational demonstration zone. It connects nearby schools, including the Hongguang Middle School and Hongguang Gangtong Road Kindergarten, as well as communities like Xijun Yinghua and Yabinli Gardens. It is aimed to create a 15-minute community life circle, allowing residents to enjoy convenient life services and leisure experiences right at their doorsteps.
In addition, individual rest stations have been built in the park, such as the Hongxing and Honghua rest stations. The above-ground parking lot inside the park can accommodate 167 vehicles.
It is worth mentioning that since its construction, the park has been adhering to environmental protection principles. Xiao Yao noted that through optimizing construction plans and using advanced technologies, the park has effectively reduced the surrounding area’s energy consumption and noise pollution. And the park construction also emphasizes the restoration of farmland and the protection of trees, increasing its green coverage rate to 72%, adding a refreshing touch of green to the district.
Chen Qinfeng, a resident of Sanguan Community in Hongguang Street, said happily, "Now, there’s one more beautiful park in the community. I can exercise right downstairs and take my kids for a stroll at any time. It’s really great!"
The fragrant flowers, the colorful trees and the refreshing breezes ... May we all often find a moment of leisure in a busy life and take a walk in the Hongguangli Park. Do not miss the beauty of the four seasons here.
